Reservation Request

Filling out the Reservation Request form indicates that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions below.

An instructor wishing to meet multiple times (more than 5 per semester) in the DCET must submit the course syllabus and a justification of why a computer lab in the DCET is needed to dcet@hum.utah.edu

The syllabus and statement of justification will be reviewed by the Department of Languages and Literature co-Chair and a decision to either accept or decline the request will be made. The instructor will then be notified of the decision.

When your class is scheduled, you will receive e-mail confirmation. Please check the schedule to verify its accuracy. If it is incorrect, please call 581-6677 so it can be corrected. NOTE: The WebEvent calendar program has a glitch. Occasionally, when you look at the calendar, a class does not show up on the month view. If you select the day tab and go to the day you want, the "invisible" class is there.

Lab assignments are made according to activity, required technology, and the actual number of students needing access to a computer.

If your activity does not require student use of the computers and you are already in a technology classroom, you are encouraged to use it instead of one of the labs.

Once scheduled, you are guaranteed lab space, though lab assignments are tentative and subject to change as new requests are received and approved.

There is a possibility you may get a lab that has less computers than you have students. If this is unacceptable, you are welcome to find another lab on campus that better suits your needs.

While it is possible a request may be declined due to room availability, the DCET will work with the instructor in order to successfully schedule the time.

Labs are only reserved for instructors intending to teach a class in the lab. NOTE: If the instructor is not with the students in the lab during class time, it is not considered a class and reserved time immediately reverts to open lab status. Misuse of reserved time may result in reservation requests being denied.
