OSH Computer Labs and Lab Schedules

The computer labs are open to the general University of Utah student population except when classes are being held in the labs. Labs are only reserved for instructors intending to teach a class that requires student use of the lab computers.

Before sending a reservation request, please check the current availability of the day(s) and time(s) you would like. Any requests outside of the DCET Hours of Operation are automatically denied.

An instructor wishing to meet more than five times during the semester in the DCET must submit the course syllabus and a justification of why a computer lab in the DCET is needed to dcet@hum.utah.edu.

The syllabus and statement of justification will be reviewed by the Department of Languages and Literature co-Chair and a decision to either accept or decline the request will be made. The instructor will then be notified of the decision.

Requests for lab time are not scheduled until the syllabus and statement of justification have been received, reviewed, and approved.

Reservation requests are given the following priority:

Languages and Literature

Requests for each new semester will be accepted only from the Department of Languages and Literature until three weeks before the beginning of that semester.

Language requests that come in with a group of non-Language requests are scheduled first according to the time they are sent, with earlier requests given preference.

College of Humanities

Beginning three weeks before the start of a new semester, reservation requests from any Humanities course will be accepted.

Humanities requests are scheduled according to the time they are sent, with earlier requests given preference.

Other University of Utah entities

Once the semester has begun, reservation requests will be accepted from University entities outside of the College of Humanities.
