When giving a degree requirement exception to a student, email wlc-advising@utah.edu, cc’ing the student, explaining the exception
- If a student comes to us asking for an exception, we will always contact you to confirm
Waive (definition): deletes the course and/or credit hours from requirements
- i.e. The student will take fewer credits than other students if a course is “waived”
Substitute/replace (definition): makes the student take another class instead of a required one
- e.g. The student will take a 4000-level course instead of a 3000-level required course if their level is too advanced
